0    I am 100% Constitutional Conservative. I Believe in and abide by our State's Bill of Rights. Our Josephine County Home Rule Charter, and the US Constitution. I am, a member of our Constitution Party of Oregon.    And My word is my "bond". I'll   (talk   the   talk)   I then will     [walk   the   walk].    

0     In 1989 I Moved here from Texas. 1992 started & ran Hardwoods Plus in Grants Pass for 26 years, 2018 started & running Selma Hardware co. Store 7 + years. (moved to Illinois Valley with my wife 31 years ago)

0     I am currently semi-retired working, managing and own Selma Hardware co. Store, in Selma. I am running the store as a convince for the Illinois Valley residents. Being open Wednesday ~ Sunday & Holidays. (shs4u.com)

0    I have over the years constantly administrated my business finances, budgeting , purchasing, inventory, sales, cost analysis, and even balancing the checkbook.

0     My, Relevant business experience: Over the years I have developed and honed my Organizational, and my Multi Tasking skills, along with my dealings with numinous Problems to Solve.

0     I have had the pleasure of dealing with numinous customers during my 36 years in business most of them were great, and some even became friends,   but a few were very difficult. I have learned from those experiences, how to be more of a compassionate human-being.

0     I have previously been a candidate for commissioner in 2006, finished third; But when the top candidate dropped out, leaving only one candidate on the November ballot; and when, the clerk, who could have placed me on the ballot, and didn't. That's when, I decided with my committee, to run a Write-In campaign. Because, I also did not want the voters to only have one candidate to vote for .

0     And in 2018 I was a candidate for Clerk in 2016 and Treasure in 2020, again because there was only one candidate on the ballot. (Not because I wanted the salary!) ..But because I was qualified.

0     I'm very Congenial and I do get along well with people. Especially, I would with the other Commissioners, BCC staff, other elected officials, Department managers & staff and all the county employees.

But Specifically  with   THE, General Public.   I, Also argee that, Josephine County citizens should be treated as the Employers.

If elected I will, Ethically, Morally and Honorably conduct myself 24/7 for the next 2 years as your commissioner, That, will be no problem for me, because I live that way anyway.

Not being a Politician, I will not seak, or even plan to get reelected, the Politician could makes decisions that will benefit himself, his advisors or the party.

I am not a Bureaucrat, because I believe Bureaucrats only live and breath by their steadfast hard rules and regulations, without common sense. I have the common sense.   But, if I should error, it would on the side of freedom.

An Opportunist is just that. One who takes, makes or creates opportunity's for oneself. Or uses the position to create an opportunity. In either case, I am not an opportunist. I am, and always will be a helpful servant.     (growing up I learned to find a need, then fill it)

I Think:   That Josephine County could benefit as Jackson County has, by having a Justice of the Peace Court. This court would hear and rule on Traffic violations; Animal offense cases and other minor offenses leaving the major crimes to be dealt with by the higher courts.

In order to implement the Justice Court system it needs to be an amendment to our Josephine County Home Rule Charter Chapter VI Section 20 paragraph 2. Only, by a citizen generated Initiative Petition for the voters to approve at the next election. If approved, then the Board of County Commissioners would create the Justice Court boundaries.

I believe this could benefit, first, the citizens, then possibly the counties revenue stream and it could also relieve the current the court system, which in-turn could accelerate court cases.

As your commissioner:    I will present myself in dignified manor in my decor, manners and speech. Knowing that I don't just represent Josephine County but I also, the citizens. I believe all the elected officials should have the same attitude.

I will also, on my own submit myself to having a   Background Check & Drug and Alcohol Test     As Employers you have a Right to Know. I will report the findings to you.  (via BCC business meetings, news paper ads, county web site or local radio)

I will also discus with the Board the need for the current level of security at the weekly business meetings. I do not think the commissioners should require extra security. DO YOU?

I will also encourage the Board to once again start holding bi-monthly evening business meetings, alternating between Wolf Creek and Cave Junction locations.

I assume,   That our citizens would like the opportunity to be directly heard. Without having to make the trip in, as it's currenly handled.

   And to accomplish this opportunity, I will suggest to the Board a plan that could encourages Josephine citizens to discus their concerns and or grievances to a single commssioner. So the citizen wont need to come to the Court house. .

The way I see this could be accomplished is: A single commissioner would actually go out into the community for the purpose of listening to the citizen then report back to the Board. The locations could be determined by using the counties 47 precincts map to hold their bi-weekly evening or weekend "Town-Hall-Type-Meetings". The meeting time and location could be announced one week in advance on the counties web page and or the local news paper(s). Or, how about as part of the BCC's weekly business meeting agenda? And since only one commissioner is involved and there isn't a quorum it would be a legal meeting.

Then the single commissioner could report their findings back to the Board, using the weekly business meeting Agenda item: Other Matters where a ...commissioner may introduce other matters for consideration by the entire board. For discussion, and possible solutions and or recommendations.

And then perhaps following up by, posting the findings and the result(s) on the counties web page and or local news paper(s). Therefore allowing all county residents to be informedof the action.
